Cooper Speaks To Brotherhood

Mount Calvary Baptist Church Brotherhood, WMU, and BYU met on Monday, April 1, at 7 p.m. at the Mount Calvary Life Center for a delicious meal and fellowship.

Isaiah 50:10,11, “Who is among you that feareth the Lord, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? Let him trust in the name of the Lord, and stay upon his God. Behold, all ye that kindle a fire, that compass yourselves about with sparks: walk in the light of your fire, and in the sparks that ye have kindled. DCS Students Travel To Guatemala

Nineteen students and chaperones were commissioned by Dillon Christian School to go and serve women and children in Guatemala March 17 – 22.  

Students Participate In All-County Band

Band students from Dillon County School Districts 3 and 4 presented a free All-County Band concert on Saturday, March 2 at 4:00 pm in the new Dillon Middle School  Gymnasium.

County Donates Vehicles To Educational Program

The Dillon County Council approved a request from the Celebrate Freedom Foundation® Project SOaR™  (School/Student Opportunities and Rewards) program for the two M-37 vehicles at the county impound.

Harbor Freight Announces Expansion

Harbor Freight Tools USA Inc., a tool distributor based in Calabasas, California, today announced that it plans to greatly expand its existing distribution center in Dillon County.

Local Student Performs At Vatican

Nearly 50 South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities (SCGSAH)  music students traveled to Italy for spring break (March 8 – March 16), which included a performance in Vatican City the week Pope Francis was elected. Among those students was Kristina Osborn of Latta.

Two Dillon Four Schools Win Palmetto Silver Awards

The South Carolina Department of Education announced Monday the recipients of the Palmetto Gold and Silver Awards for the 2012-2013 school year.
