Joe Mood Edens, Jr., 87, died November 27, 2015 in Columbia, SC.  Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 30, 2015 at Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Eugen Bach officiating. 

Dillon To Play For State Title Next Friday

Dillon County had three teams trying to win a place in next week’s state title games. One moved on to the state title game, while the other two lost to their opponents on Friday night.

  Services for Larry Vance Lane, Sr.were held Saturday at 1:00 P.M. in Bethesda Southern Methodist Church with burial in the church cemetery.  Visitation was 7-9 p.m. Friday in Cooper Funeral Home.

November 28th Proclaimed Criterion Club Day

Mayor Pro-Tem Connie Manning presented a proclamation to Criterion Club President Jackie Yates Leach on behalf of Mayor Todd Davis during the Criterion Club 70th Anniversary – Platinum Celebration on November 7, 2015.  Mayor Todd Davis has proclaimed Criterion Club Day will be observed on November 28, 2015.

Deputies Seeking Information On Purse Snatching

On November 13, 2015, the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call at South of the Border at the Mexico Shop in reference to an assault and purse snatching, according to Captain Cliff Arnette of the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office.  

Dr. Gurley Retires After 36 Years Of Educating Children

After over 36 years of dedicated service to her sole purpose of educating children, Dr. Beverly Jones Gurley has retired.
