Deputies Dispatched To Robbery

On November 26th, 2023, at 7:28 p.m., Dillon County Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to Briarpatch Lane, in the Sellers community, in reference to a robbery.
Upon arrival, Deputies met with the victim who reported receiving a call from one of the suspects on his cellphone and then meeting the suspect in his yard on Briarpatch Lane.
While in the yard talking to the suspect who called him, four other suspects with their faces covered, jumped out of the vehicle, and held the victim at gunpoint. The suspects tied the victim’s hands behind his back with zip ties.
At that point, one of the suspects struck the victim in the head with a brick. The suspects then picked the victim up and forced their way into the residence. The suspects continued to assault the victim inside of the residence, while one of the suspects held the victim’s girlfriend at gun point.
The victim reported multiple items taking from the residence including jewelry, a pocketbook, tennis shoes, cellphones and a surveillance camera box.

Upon investigation, one of the suspects was identified to be William (Willie) Cook, 35 of Latta, SC. Cook is charged with Burglary 1st, Armed Robbery, two counts of Kidnapping, and Conspiracy to Commit Kidnapping.

A second suspect is identified as Archie Reedy Williams, 33, of Marion, SC. Williams is charged with Conspiracy to commit kidnapping, Accessory before the fact to a felony A, Accessory after the fact to Felony A, and resisting arrest.
William Cook and Archie Reedy Williams are being held at the Dillon County Detention Center and their bonds have been denied. This case is still under investigation and more arrests are expected.
