On December 2nd, 2023, around 12:02 p.m., Dillon County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a structure fire on Belaire Drive, in the Hamer community.
Upon arrival it was reported a mobile home burned and had been extinguished by Dillon County Fire Station 4. It was reported the fire appeared to have been set intentionally.
Upon investigation, it was determined Matthew Lee Scarborough, Jr. is alleged to be the suspect and arrest warrants were obtained for Arson 2nd Degree, and unlawful communication.
Scarborough was arrested and is awaiting a bond hearing at the Dillon County Detention Center.
