Fords Sign To Play At Next Level

Lake View’s talented football players, Ja’Correus Ford and Da’Correus Ford, took the next step forward in their football careers in the Lake View High School Athletic Conference Room on Wednesday, February 3, by signing to play football at Frostburg State University in Frostburg, Maryland.
Having been influenced by Darius Leonard, Ja’Correus Ford has excelled in football for the past four years in Lake View beginning with his very first appearance in a game when Coach King placed him into the game against Johnsonville when he was a freshman. On his initial carry, he rushed for a 72-yard touchdown!
Although Ja’Correus plays basketball, his heart is in football.
Ja’Correus Ford received other offers such as Limestone University and Savannah State University but elected to play for Frostburg State University.
Both Fords will carry their work ethic with them to their new university and put it to use there as they did in Lake View.
Both Ja’Correus and Da’Correus will be a great fits in Frostburg’s program because they also love football as Lake View does plus Frostburg has a good sports management program where both will major plus Da’Correus will also major in art. Da’Correus also stated that “he is a dreamer who sees Frostburg as an asset to a successful future academically and athletically plus I hope to encourage and influence the other students and grow the spirit of the school”.
Ja’Correus starred in the Lake View football program as a running back and on the kick return team. While as a Wild Gator, Ja’Correus received honors such has “Running Up For Zoneman”, Pee Dee Player of the Week, Blitz Award, and All Star.
Although Ja’Correus devotes his time to football, he sometimes has some time for fishing and playing “Madden”. Ja’Correus Ford’s family has always supported him in his football careers of which has been a comfort and a blessing to him. He respects them and thanks them for their support.
Ja’correus’ family has always wanted the best for him and has encouraged him to do the best at everything that he can.
Ja’Correus takes special pride in his work ethic and thanks his coaches for instilling in him that to be the best one must apply one’s self to the task.
Although the Fords are moving to the next step in their careers, they certainly will miss all of their teammates, coaches, and friends in Lake View.
Da’Correus play cornerback and was influenced by his family and the Lake View Community.
Da’Correus recalls the memory of playing for a state championship has the most rewarding in his football career.
Da’Correus has played football since playing on the recreational football league.
Da’Correus, like his brother, also plays basketball and enjoys building, art, and cleaning.
Coach Darryl King and the entire coaching coach wishes only the best for Ja’Correus and Da’Correus as they continue their football careers. They expect only good things from him in his football career.
Of course, Ja’Correus’ and Da’Correus’ family including parents, Amelia Worley and Terrance Frod, are very proud of them and their accomplishments and look forward to watching them grow academically and in their football careers.
