The Dillon Christian School “B” team third year football head coach Michael Hayes is excited about this year’s team.
Last year the team was 3-4 for the season while having only 14 players of which 12 dressed out at a time.
Brent Hardy is helping this year along with returning coaches Matt Adams and Nute Jackson.
We lost three players from the 2019 team.
We are welcoming quite a few new players including Jasper McIntyre, Gray Easterling, Mason Stephens, and Mills Wallace who will help tremendously. Easterling and Wallace will add depth to our receivers, and McIntyre and Stephens will add to our offensive and defensive line.
The team has a really good group of returning players: CJ Bailey (RB/LB), Gavin Jones (OLine/DLine), Jackson Outler (RB/LB), Ethan Sampson (OLine/DLine), Thompson Stone (WR/DB), Avery Sherman (QB), and Ford Richardson (WR/DB). This group of guys played every snap in every game in 2019.
The team has experience across the board. Dillon Christian School was p;aced into situation last year that everyone played all game. Having 14 dressed out in an 11-man sport, that will give everyone experience. The passion and determination on the team last year was uncoachable. The coaching staff this year already sees that determination this year and drive to win.
The coaching staff expects and hopes to have a good season this year.
The number of kids on the team has almost doubled from last year. So, there is more depth at different positions.
Coach Hayes remarked “The kids are glad to be back out there practicing and having some kind of normalcy. These kids have not had that kind of normalcy in six months. These last few weeks have been good for them,and it shows with their effort on and off the field. We look forward to playing this year and seeing everyone at Warrior Field!”
