Dillon Christian School Warriors Clinch SCISA Region 1-A Title

The Dillon Christian School Warriors clinched the SCISA Region 1-A title with a 47-20 win over Carolina Academy on Friday, October 20, in Lake City.
The Warriors’ Diaz Alexander rushed for 220 yards and 6 touchdowns on 19 carries win while Demontez Alford carried for 115 yards on 19 carries in the win.
Dillon Christian School jumped off to an early 14-0 lead after the first quarter on a 42-yard run by Garrett Collins with 11:06 showing on the scoreboard and a 4-yard run by Diaz Alexander with 1:04 remaining in the first quarter. Gage Bazemore connected for both PATs.
With 4:20 remaining in the second quarter, Diaz Alexander rushed for 6 yards for the Warriors next score. Gage Bazemore’s PAT was good.
Christian Academy got on the scoreboard with 1:39 remaining in the second quarter on a 21-yard pass completion to Shay Hall from Cade Cassells. Christian Academy also connected on a 2-point pass to Shay Hall from Cade Cassells to close the score to 21-8.
Carolina Academy scored 6 points with 10:54 remaining in the third quarter on an 8-yard run by Tyson Brand. The PAT failed.
The Warriors quickly responded with a 38-yard run by Diaz Alexander followed by the PAT by Gage Bazemore with 8:01 remaining in the third quarter.
Carolina Academy’s Shay Hall was once again on the receiving end of a 25-yard touchdown pass by Cade Cassells with 4:49 remaining in the third quarter. The 2-point run attempt failed.
Dillon Christian School placed 6 points on the scoreboard on a 5-yard run by Diaz Alexander with 1:52 remaining in the third quarter. Bazemore’s PAT failed The Warriors managed 14 points in the fourth quarter on a 1-yard run by Diaz Alexander with 10:22 remaining in the game. The PAT by Gage Bazemore was good. The final score of the game came with 3:56 remaining on 26-yard run by Diaz Alexander. Bazemore’s PAT failed.
Dillon Christian School is 7-2 for the season and 6-0 in SCISA 1-A play.
The Warriors will host Florence Christian on Friday, October 27, at 7:30 p.m.
