Warriors Varsity Boys Fall To Stallions In Overtime

By Craig Brown
The Dillon Christian School Warriors boys basketball team fell 66-57 to the Stallions of Williamsburg Academy Friday night at Warrior gymnasium in overtime.
The Warriors were playing without the assistance of Luke Price, Michael Minges, and Tyreke Toomer who were away preparing for the SCISA North South All-Stars Football Game.
The Stallions are known for having a good basketball program, and a short bench was going to handicap the Warriors even further.
The Warriors matched up against the Stallions for four quarters before falling behind in overtime most likely as a result of fatigue.
The first quarter ended at 9-9 with the Warriors pulling ahead 20-17 by the halftime break. In the third quarter the Stallions outscored the Warriors two to one to go up 36-29 over the Warriors.
The Warriors fought back in the fourth quarter putting up 21 points to the Stallions 14 to knot the game at 50-50 and send the game into overtime.
The overtime period belonged to the Stallions as they outscored the Warriors, 16-7, to get the 66-57 win.
Scoring for the Stallions, Xander Brown had 20 points; Chase Murray had 18 points; John Davidson Floyd had 17 points; E.J. Muldrow had five points; Benton McGill had four points; and Dylan Feagin added two points.
Scoring for the Warriors, Diaz Alexander had 19 points; Ross Carlyle had 13 points; Montez Alford had ten points; John Rourke had six points; Walt Bailey had four points; Kyle Floyd had three points; and Jackson Wolfe added two points.
