The Dillon Christian School junior varsity boys basketball team defeated the JV Stallions of Williamsburg Academy Friday night in Dillon, 47-21.
The JV team has some promising future stars and look to be a force to be dealt with this season.
The Stallions are known for having a good basketball program and for the young Warriors to dominate them was a statement. At the end of the first quarter, the Warriors held a 18-6 lead taking a 23-12 lead into the halftime break.
The Warriors continued their bombardment in the second half leading 32-20 after three quarters and getting 15 points in the fourth period while holding the Stallions to a single point to get the 47-21 win. Scoring for the Warriors, Ian Bethea had 22 points; Caleb Boykin had seven points; Hunter McDuffie and Josh Brown had six points each; Mason Bailey had three points; Zane Caughill had two points; and Jason Chen added a point.
The Dillon Christian School junior varsity Lady Warriors basketball team defeated the Junior Varsity Lady Stallions of Williamsburg Academy on Friday night at Warrior gymnasium.
The JV ladies are well-balanced, and some of the players will be future stars when they move up to varsity.
The Warriors had a 15-0 lead by the end of the first quarter and took a 25-4 lead into the halftime break. The Warriors slowed down the attack in the second half leading 27-7 after three adding two points in the fourth period allowing the Stallions six to finish the game with the 29-13 win.
Scoring for the Warriors, August Smith had two more points than the entire Stallion team with 15; Sarah Martin had seven points; Shayla Hunt had three points; and Michelle Chen and Grace Dubose added two points each.
