Station Nine Participating In Home Fire Campaign

Having a working smoke alarm doubles your chances of surviving a home fire.
As part of their Home Fire Campaign, the American Red Cross and Dillon County Fire Station 9 are conducting home fire safety checks and installing smoke alarms for the residents of Oak Grove.
This lifesaving service, including the smoke alarms, is free for residents of Oak Grove. “Home fires are the most common disaster in the country,” explained Nanci Conley, executive director for the American Red Cross of Eastern S.C. “Together with Dillon County Fire Station 9 we are protecting families and potentially saving lives.”
In only 30 minutes you and your family will be better protected from home fires.
During a visit to your home, Dillon County firefighters will:-Check existing smoke alarms
-Replace batteries (if needed)
-Install new smoke alarms (if needed)
-Provide home fire safety information
Oak Grove residents can contact Dillon County Fire Station 9 at 843-752-6433 or stop by the station at 1723 Hwy. 38 West, Latta, to schedule one of these free visits. All services are provided at no charge to the residents of the Oak Grove area.
Home fires occur more often than most people realize; in South Carolina, the Red Cross responds to requests from local fire departments every 3.9 hours to come to the aid of victims affected by home fires.
