The Lady Vikings took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first and scored two runs each in the second and third to lead 5-0. The Lady Trojans scored their only run in the seventh inning.
Anna Rogers earned the win on the mound, pitching a complete seven-innings for just three hits, one run, one earned run, two walks, and 13 outs. Hope Elliott took the loss, pitching three innings for five hits, five runs, five earned runs, two hits, and one hit by pitch.
Raven Baxley went 2-for-3 with a double and a RBI to lead Latta at bat, and Mikenzi Caniglia went 2-for-3 for the Lady Vikings. The Vikings had six hits and two errors in the win.
Brook Elliott went 1-for-3 with a triple to lead Green Sea and Hannah Page went 2-for-3. The Trojans had three hits in the loss.
Latta improved their record to 6-6 overall and 2-1 in Region 8A.
The Lady Vikings are scheduled to travel to Hannah-Pamplico tonight, but latta will be back home on Thursday to host Lake View’s Lady Wild Gators at 5:30 p.m. Make plans to attend to support our local teams!
