Latta Vikings Shut Out Trojans 10-0

The Latta Vikings shut out the visiting Green Sea-Floyds Trojans 10-0 in five innings on Friday night in varsity baseball action.

Latta scored three runs each in the bottom of the second and third innings and added four runs in the fourth to seal the win.

Christian Hendrix pitched four innings with no hits and one walk while striking out 10 for the win. A. Wisnowski took the loss for the Trojans, pitching 3.3 innings for seven hits, nine runs, eight earned runs, two walks, and three outs.

John Kever Love led Latta at bat, going 2-for-3 with three RBIs, and Jeremy Jenkins went 2-for-2 with two doubles and two RBIs. Jackson Williams also went 2-for-3 with a double. The Vikings had seven hits in the win while the Trojans has one hit and two errors in five innings.

Latta improved to 9-1 overall and 5-0 in Region 8A. The Vikings will travel to face Hannah-Pamplico tonight and will be at home to host Mullins on Wednesday and Lake View on Thursday. Both games start at 5:30 p.m., so make plans to attend to support our local teams!
