Lady Wildcats Win 5-0 Over Warriors

Dillon’s Lady Wildcats defeated Waccamaw 5-0 on Tuesday night to remain undefeated in Region 8-2A.

The Lady Wildcats scored four runs in the bottom of the first as Shaquailla German picked up three RBI. Dillon added another run in the second to lead 5-0, and the Wildcats held the Lady Warriors at bay the rest of the way to claim the win.

Darby Hamer earned the win for the Wildcats, pitching a complete game with six outs and just three hits. Haille Butler took the loss for Waccamaw, pitching six innings for 12 hits, five runs, five earned runs, one walk, and one out.

Shaquailla German led the Wildcats at bat, hitting a double and a triple for three RBIs. Shayna Covington went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, and Tara Grimsley went 2-for-4 for the Wildcats.

Dillon improved to 7-1 overall and remained undefeated 3-0 in the region. The Wildcats were ranked second in the state in this week’s Class 2A softball coaches poll. Andrew Jackson took the top spot with Crescent in third and Buford in fourth.

The Lady Wildcats will host Aynor this Friday at 6:30 p.m. before going on the road for the next two weeks. Make plans to attend to support our team!
