Dillon’s Tyshanna Lester made her debut on Tuesday night with a game-high 24 points to lead the Lady Wildcats to a 62-33 win over Marion.
The Wildcats took a 15-6 lead in the first quarter and outscored Marion 21-11 in the second to lead 36-17 at the half. Dillon outscored the Swamp Foxes 14-9 and 12-7 in the second half to maintain the lead and earn the win.
In her first game of the season, Tyshanna Lester led the Wildcats with 24 points with Dakerhia Samuel adding 10. Yolanda Campbell added eight; Khamele Manning and Brianna Lee each scored six; Shar’Asia Samuel and Tara Grimsley each scored three; and Shymya Sowells added two points in the win.
Laquiasha Williams led marion with nine points, followed by Laqueshia Kinney with seven, Courtney Davis and L. Goum with six, and K. Samuels with five.
The Lady Wildcats improved to 8-7 overall and 2-1 in Region 8-2A.
Dillon was set to travel to Latta on Wednesday to face the Vikings, who defeated the Lady Wildcats 59-45 in their first non-region meeting. On Thursday, Dillon will be at Loris and on Tuesday, the Wildcats will be at Waccamaw. Dillon will be back home on Friday, January 25, to host Aynor.
