Dillon’s Lady Wildcats opened the season with a win as they defeated South Robeson 57-39 on Tuesday.
Dillon outscored South Robeson in the first three periods – 17-6, 15-12, and 10-6 – and tied 15-15 in the fourth for the 57-39 win.
Chelsea Frazier scored a game-high 23 points and made 11 assists to lead Dillon in the win. Breanna Lee earned seven, Kedisha Davis added six, and Tara Grimsley scored five points, with Shayna Covington, Nekevra Paige, and Kadejhia Sellers each adding four points. Jessica Fwinvler scored two.
South Robeson was led by LaDavis McMillian with 15 points and Virginia McCormick with nine points. Doriea Drawhorn scored seven and Jaquel Stackhouse earned three.
The Lady Wildcats start the season 1-0 overall.
The Dillon boys were also scheduled to play South Robeson on Tuesday, but results were not yet available.
The Wildcats will host Fairmont tonight at 6:00 p.m. and host Lake View on Friday at 6:00 p.m. for boys and girls basketball action. Be sure to attend and support our local teams!
