The Dillon Dixie Boys 13-14 All-Stars won the District Three Championship on Tuesday, June 28, with an 8-5 win over Marlboro County in Darlington.
Joseph Scott was the winning pitcher with Patrick Herring getting the save.
Blake Deese was the leading hitter with three hits and four RBIs, with Landry Collins getting two hits and two RBIs.
Collins also made the play of the game for Dillon. With the bases loaded and Marlboro County leading 5-0, Collins caught a ball on the fence to save a home run and turn the game around in Dillon’s favor.
The win sends the Dillon All-Stars on to play at McLeod Park in Florence on Tuesday, July 5, at 7 p.m. Dillon will be playing the winner of Wednesday night’s game between McLeod Park and Greenwood.
