Latta’s Lady Vikings remain undefeated in the regular season with an 11-1 win over the Green Sea-Floyds Trojans on Tuesday.
Latta started things off with two runs in the first inning and earned two more in the third. They added three in the fourth and four in the the fifth of the six inning game. The Trojans scored their only run in the first inning.
Winning pitcher Morgan Mason pitched in all six innings and allowed only three hits and one earned run, striking out six Trojans. Hope Elliott pitched for Green Sea-Floyds, giving up 11 runs, 18 hits, and one walk, and striking out only one Viking.
Lead hitters for Latta included Charise Braddy, 4-for-4 with two RBIs; Kaitlyn Lewis, 3-for-3 with one RBI; Raven Baxley, 2-for-4 with a hone run and two RBIs; Allison Moody, 2-for-4 with a double; Chelsea Welty, 2-for-4 with three RBIs; and Paige Lovett, 2-for-4.
The Lady Vikings are now 4-0 with a 2-0 region record. They were scheduled to host Lamar last night and are next scheduled to take on South Florence in a double-header on Saturday, March 19.
