Lake View Gators Suffer Loss

The Lake View Wild Gators suffered an 8-5 loss to Trinity-Byrnes on Thursday, April 19, in Darlington in varsity baseball action.
Lake View committed 6 errors in the game, and Trinity-Byrnes committed 2 errors.
C. J. Miles picked up the win for Trinity-Byrnes. He pitched 6 and 1/3 innings. He allowed 6 hits, walked 3, struck out 5, and allowed 5 runs of which 2 were earned.
Deonte Roberts was charged with the loss. He pitched 5 innings. He allowed 9 hits, walked 1, struck out 10, and allowed 7 runs that was earned.
Trinity-Byrnes connected for 11 hits while holding Lake View to 6 hits.
Lake View jumped out to an early 1-0 lead after the top of the first inning and added another run in the top of the second inning. Trinity-Byrnes did not get on the scoreboard until the bottom of the third inning with a run. Trinity-Byrnes scored 2 runs in the bottom of the fourth, 4 runs in the bottom of the fifth, and another run in the bottom of the sixth. Lake View placed 3 runs on the scoreboard in the top of the seventh inning.
Peyton Jackson connected for 3 hits and 2 rbi in his 4 at-bats for the Wild Gators while Thomas Skipper garnered 2 hits and a rbi in his 4 at-bats.
Trinity-Brynes’ Jake Swartz picked up 2 rbi on 2 hits in 4 at-bats. Brycen Rogers connected for 3 hits and 2 rbi in his 4 at-bats. Jacob Adams was perfect at the plate with a triple, 2 singles, and a rbi in his 3 at-bats.
