Lady Vikings Hand Wolverines 12-1 Loss

The Latta Vikings handed the East Clarendon Wolverines a 12-1 defeat in a varsity softball game played in Turbeville on Thursday, April 19.
Latta’s Dylan Brewer not only picked up the win, he also connected for a triple, a double, 2 singles, a rbi, and scored a run in his 5 at-bats.
Latta pounded 14 hits while holding East Clarendon to only 2 hits, a single by D. Hancock who picked up a rbi and a single by A. Mixon.
Latta only committed 1 error while East Clarendon was guilty of 3.
Latta got on the scoreboard wit a run in the top of the second inning, another run in the top of the third, 4 runs in the top of the fifth and 6 runs in the top of the seventh inning before East Clarendon scored a run in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Latta’s Russ Rogers connected for 3 singles, 2 rbi, and scored 3 runs in his 5 at-bats. Chandler Matthews garnered a double, a walk, and scored a run in his 3 plate appearances. Pierce Watson doubled, garnered a walk, and scored a run in his 5 plate appearances. Jackson Powers singled in his 2 at-bats. Deonte Stanley singled and picked up 2 rbi in his 5 plate appearances. McLeod Carmichael singled, picked up a rbi, and scored a run in his 5 plate appearances. John Malcolm George singled and scored a run in his 4 at-bats. Jordan Hayes singled, picked up a rbi, and scored a run in his 4 at-bats. Kendall Moultrie, Kody Anderson, and Chandler Nolan each scored a run in the game.
Latta’s Dylan Brewer pitched 6.2 innings and gave up 2 hits, walked no one, struck out 10, and allowed 1 earned run to capitalize on the win. Hunter Sawyer pitched only 0.1 inning.
