Elbert Walker Owens, Jr., 74, died Thursday, October 22, 2015 at his residence.
Born August 31, 1941 in Dillon. He was the son of the late Elbert Walker, Sr. and Maggie Ammons Owens. He was a former motel clerk and was an avid sports fan.
Surviving are his sons, Timothy Owens of Dillon, Jason Owens (Cherrie) of Wilmington; daughters, Cynthia Hosher (Rodney) of Florence, Crystal Gail Owens of Columbia, and Pam Braswell (James) of Latta; brothers, Larry Owens of Myrtle Beach, and Bobby Owens of Dillon; sisters, Marian Cook of Dillon, Tina Aiken, of Dillon, Brenda Turner of Dillon; 8 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by sons, Billy Walker Owens and Billy Eugene Owens, and brother, Edward Owens. Mr. Owens was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Julia Hicks Owens.
Services for Elbert Walker Owens, Jr., will be held 3:00p.m. Sunday, at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held 2:00p.m. – 3:00 p.m. prior to the service.
