U.S. Postal Service To Go To Five Day Mail Delivery In August

The United States Postal Service announced plans today to transition to a new delivery schedule during the week of Aug. 5, 2013 that includes package delivery Monday through Saturday, and mail delivery Monday through Friday. The Postal Service expects to generate cost savings of approximately $2 billion annually, once the plan is fully implemented.

Rice Appointed To Transportation Subcommittee

Rep. Tom Rice (SC-07), was appointed by Transportation & Infrastructure Chairman Bill Shuster (PA-09) today to the following Transportation and Infrastructure subcommittees: Subcommittee on Highways and Transit; Subcommittee on Water Resources and Environment; and the Subcommittee on Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation.  The Transportation & Infrastructure Committee will meet later today to formally approve Rep. Rice’s subcommittee assignments.
