Grants Available For Teachers

Del Monte Fresh Produce, North America, Inc. announced today that it is launching a program to help support kindergarten thru 12th grade public school teachers across North and Central America with cash to purchase school supplies and fresh fruit in the “Teacher Monday: Cash for Classrooms” campaign. One hundred prizes totaling $1,000 each will be awarded to teachers who get the most votes in the “Teacher Monday: Cash for Classrooms” online contest at www.fruits.com.

‘See You At The Pole’ Prayer Service Held At DHS

Members of the student body and faculty/staff at Dillon High School met Wednesday morning, September 22, before school to observe the national “See You At The Pole.” The students used this time to pray for their schools, the nation, their communities and their families.

South Carolina Getting $47 Million In Federal Teacher Incentive Fund Grants Program

The state is among 62 winners of Teacher Incentive Fund (TIF) grants announced today by U.S Secretary of Education Arne Duncan. South Carolina’s award of $47,189,299 is the fifth largest for a statewide education agency.

Dillon District Two Teachers Of The Year Announced

Dillon High School’s Beth Hinson has been named Dillon School District Two 2010-2011 District Teacher of the Year. Dillon School District Two announced Mrs. Hinson’s selection during the September 20th board meeting honoring all Teachers of the Year for the 2010-2011 school year.

Judgement House 2010 kicked off for the 7th year with a new script, “Words.”
On Friday, September 12th and Saturday, September 13th, East Dillon Baptist church opened its doors from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. for groups of 15 or 20 to participate in a walk-through drama.
