LMS Holds Record Breaking Canned Food Drive

The Latta Middle School Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society collected a grand total of 2,516 food items during their annual Carolina/Clemson canned food drive, setting a new collection record.

On November 23, the Fourth Judicial Circuit AET along with Dillon County Sheriff’s Department, Dillon City Police Department, and Latta Police Department alcohol compliance checks were performed at local stores throughout the county.

A carjacking suspect was arrested recently, according to the Chief James T. McDaniels of the Lake View Police Department.

Monroe Raymond Kannaday

Monroe Raymond Kannaday, 83, died December 23, 2011 at the McLeod Regional Medical Center in Dillon, SC. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at the Kannaday Funeral Home Chapel in Latta with burial in Magnolia Cemetery in Latta. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, December 26, 2011 at Kannaday Funeral Home in Latta.

Services for Rex Lee Adams were held Thursday at 11:00 A.M. in Cooper Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. James Smith.

Services for Edd Martin Campbell were held 3:00 p.m. Friday in Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with entombment in Evergreen Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation was held 1:30-3:00 p.m. Friday prior to the service.
