The ceremonies were conducted by Latta Recreational Director Ann Jackson and volunteer Ricky Bryant.
During the ceremony, Jerry Daniels was honored with special recognition and a a plaque for his willingness to always offer his help to the program.
Spongebob Squarepants was the special guest for the children (and adults).
After introducing each player and coach of the teams, the release of balloons and fireworks display began.
At the conclusion of the display, a t-ball tournament was held. Scores were not kept in the t-ball tournament.
On Saturday, March 24, at 9:00 a.m., the coach pitch, softball, and baseball teams had a day long tournament. Twenty-one teams from Latta and three teams from Lake View participated.In the girls coach pitch tournament, RML #7 finished in first place with A&B’s Country Kitchen in second and Camp’s Equipment in third.
In the nine- and ten-year-old girls division, 31 Club Little Birdies took the top spot. Lake View took second, and Lovette Farms finished in third.
In the nine- and ten-year-old boys division, the Cobras finished in first, followed by Lake View and Subway of Marion.
In 11- and 12-year-old boys action, Lake View took the top spot with Z&A in second and Moore’s Used Cars in third.
In 11- and 12-year-old girls softball, Vulcraft finished in first and RML #7 finished second.
