Darius is very thankful to his Mom and Dad who are the most influential people in his life.
“Darius was the only speed on our team this past season,” Latta High Head Football Coach Kelly Williamson exclaimed. “He’ll surely be missed. I wish he could play again for us this year.”
Coach Williamson told Darius that the most important thing is to get an education, but as an added bonus he gets to enjoy playing football, a sport he really enjoys.
Darius is not only a standout at football but also excels in basketball where he received the “Coaches Award” for his outstanding play in the tenth grade and in Track and Field where he was the most improved player in his junior year in high school at Latta.
Darius is also the recipient of the Ronald Lorenzo McBride leadership award.
He is serving as class president of the senior class at Latta High School. He also served as class president his sophomore and junior years at Latta High School.
Darius was the JV MVP while in his freshman year. He was the most outstanding offensive player in his junior year.
Darius said his accomplishments in football, basketball, and track and field could be attributed to his present and previous coaches who he really appreciates for all of their efforts on him.
Darius has been playing football since his early youth and now looks forward to continuing his football career at Mars Hill College where he will play as a cornerback and hopefully on offense.
