Thomas Eugene Rogers, age 77, died at his home on Monday, December 25, 2023. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, December 28, 2023, at Second Baptist Church with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at Cooper Funeral Home.
Born on November 24, 1946, he was the son of the late George Henry and Irene Rogers. He was a member of Second Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Eugene served in the South Carolina National Guard. He was employed with Dixiana Mills for over twenty years. For the last forty years, he was employed with Dillon Electric Service.
Eugene enjoyed gardening and found enjoyment with sharing his vegetables. He spent a great amount of time with his grandchildren. Eugene was a humble man who loved everyone.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-seven years, Linda; two daughters, Tracey Campbell (Scott) and Karen English (Bryan); grandchildren, Jacob English, Lila English, and Bryant Campbell.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family would like to thank Agape Hospice for the special care they provided. Special thanks to Shannon Carter, a lifelong friend of Karen and Tracey for her love and care during the last days of Eugene’s life.
