On Saturday October 23, 2023, The DHS JROTC Raider team participated in a Raider meet hosted by Green Sea High School. There was a total of seven schools who participated in this event. Each school could enter up to two teams which includes a TRADITIONAL DIVISION (less than four females on the team) and MIXED DIVISION (minimum of four females and four males on the team. At least three females must compete in each event.) The DHS Raider team entered in both traditional and mixed division team.
The meet consisted of five training events designed to challenge the physical and problem-solving skills of the participants:
· 8 x 400 Relay
· HUMVEE Vehicle Pull (200 feet)
· Evacuate a Casualty/Team Physical Fitness Challenge. 880 yards on wooded and grassy terrain (litter carry, tire flip, balance log, 6’ wall, low and high crawl, logistics relay)
· One rope bridge (non-standard 53-foot crossing)
· Knot Relay (2 person teams, 4 stations 370 yards while carrying lifeboat)
