BREAKING NEWS: Dillon Man Charged With Four Counts of Forgery

John Corey Jackson of Dillon was arrested today (Wednesday) on four counts of forgery, each one $10,000 or more, according to Robert Kittle, Communications Director for the S.C. Attorney General’s Office. The story including the details from the warrants appear in Thursday’s issue, and we will continue to update this post as information becomes available.

A Dillon man has been charged with multiple counts of forgery.
John Corey Jackson was arrested Wednesday on fourcounts of forgery, each one $10,000 or more, according to Robert Kittle, Communications Director for the S.C. Attorney General’s Office.
The warrants stated the following:
* On or about December 1, 2022, John Corey Jackson did, within the county of Dillon, commit the offense of Forgery, to wit: Jackson submitted a pre-approval application to the Dillon Historic Preservation Committee for a 50,000 grant that that was offered to assist local business owners with property repairs. Jackson forged a contractor quote in his application from G.B.I. Construction, totaling $108,894.27 for repairs to his property located at 111 North Railroad Avenue, Dillon, SC. The affiant’s belief is based upon the forged contractor quote submitted by Jackson, the Dillon Historic Preservation Grant Pre-Approval Application, along with witness and business owner statements obtained during the investigation that prove the same. This being in violation of Section 16-13-10, South Carolina Code of Laws.

* On or about April 1, 2023, John Corey Jackson did, within the county of Dillon, commit the offense of Forgery, to wit: Jackson submitted a pre-approval application to the Dillon Historic Preservation Committee for a $50,000 grant that that was offered to assist local business owners with property repairs. Jackson forged a contractor quote in his application from G.B.I Construction, totaling $125,191.54 for repairs to his property located at 117 North Railroad Avenue, Dillon, SC. The affiant’s belief is based upon the forged contractor quote submitted by Jackson, the Dillon Historic Preservation Grant Pre-Approval Application, along with witness and business owner statements obtained during the investigation that prove the same. This being in violation of Section 16-13-10, South Carolina Code of Laws.

* On or about December 1, 2022, John Corey Jackson did, within the county of Dillon, commit the offense of Forgery, to wit: Jackson submitted a pre-approval application to the Dillon Historic Preservation Committee for a $50,000 grant that that was offered to assist local business owners with property repairs. Jackson forged a contractor quote in his application from Jackson Construction LLC, totaling $103,394.27 for repairs to his property located at 111 North Railroad Avenue, Dillon, SC. The affiant’s belief is based upon the forged contractor quote submitted by Jackson, the Dillon Historic Preservation Grant Pre-Approval Application, along with witness and business owner statements obtained during the investigation that prove the same. This being in violation of Section 16-13-10, South Carolina Code of Laws.

* On or about April 1, 2023, John Corey Jackson did, within the county of Dillon, commit the offense of Forgery, to wit: Jackson submitted a pre-approval application to the Dillon Historic Preservation Committee for a $50,000 grant that that was offered to assist local business owners with property repairs. Jackson forged a contractor quote in his application from Jackson Construction LLC, totaling $110,974.82 for repairs to his property located at 117 North Railroad Avenue, Dillon, SC. The affiant’s belief is based upon the forged contractor quote submitted by Jackson, the Dillon Historic Preservation Grant Pre-Approval Application, along with witness and business owner statements obtained during the investigation that prove the same. This being in violation of Section 16-13-10, South Carolina Code of Laws.
