Lee Central Stallions Defeat Latta Lady Vikings

The Lee Central Lady Stallions defeated the visiting Latta Lady Vikings 51-33 in Bishopville on Friday, December 16, in varsity basketball action.
The Lady Stallions jumped out to a 19-3 lead after the first period of play and by halftime were up 31-5. After 3 quarters of play, Lee Central lead 41-15.
Lee Central’s scoring was balanced with Kiyonna Austin with 10 points who connected on 6 free throws and two 2-point baskets. Shadae Rembert added 9 points to the scoreboard with four 2-point baskets and a free throw. Mykeriyah Holmes and Annastasia Bradley each sank three 2-point baskets for 6 points, and Natalie Pitts had a 3-point basket, a 2-point basket, and a free throw for 6 points.

Hannah Reames and Ke’myra Dennis each sank a 3-point basket and a 2-point basket for 5 points each. Mylasia Dennis connected for two 2-point baskets for 4 points.
Latta’s Kaliya Herman led all scorers with 14 points. She sank four 2-point baskets and two 3-point baskets. Shawniza Bethea had three 2-point baskets, a 3-point basket, and 3 free throws for 12 points. Kardae McFadden had two 2-point baskets and a 3-point basket for 7 points.
Latta committed 9 fouls in the first half and 3 fouls in the second half.
Lee Central committed 4 fouls in the first half and 6 fouls in the second half.

Latta will participate in a tournament to be held at Carvers Bay High School on December 28, 29, and 30.
