Lady Wildcats Come From Behind To Defeat Loris

The Dillon Lady Wildcats came from behind to defeat the Loris Lions 5-3 in the Lower State playoff played in Loris on Friday, May 13, in a well-attended game.
Loris held a 3-0 lead after 6 innings of play. However, the Dillon Lady Wildcats clawed their way back into the game with 3 runs in the top of the seventh inning to knot the score at 3 each.
Dillon held Loris scoreless in the bottom of the seventh inning to force an extra inning. Dillon scored 2 runs in the top of the eighth inning to claim the win 5-3 over the Lady Lady Lions.
All of Dillon’s players contributed in the win. Dillon’s Chesney Caddell pitched 1.2 innings and allowed 2 hits, 3 runs of which 2 were earned, walked 2, and struck out 1. Paige Sherman pitched 6.1 innings and allowed 3 hits, no runs, walked no one, and struck out 12 to get the win.
Karley Hand took the loss for Loris. She pitched 8 innings and allowed 8 hits, 5 runs of which 1 was earned, walked 1, and struck out 2.
Dillon’s Cierra Grice had 3 hits and 2 rbi in her 5 at-bats. Makeena Meekins had a hit, a rbi, hit by a pitch, and scored 2 runs in her 3 at-bats. Jenascia Lester, Makayla Huggins, Chesney Caddell, and Shakinah Murphy each had a hit in 4 at-bats.
Loris’ Caitie Black had 2 hits, a rbi, and a walk in her 3 at-bats. Karley Hand had 2 hits and a rbi in her 4 at-bats. Aysia Whitley had a hit in her 3 at-bats. Jaci Griffin had a rbi in her 1 at-bat. Haley Spence garnered a walk in the game.
