Lady Vikings Softball Win District Title

The Latta Lady Vikings won the District Title with a 5-1 win over Silver Bluff on Wednesday, May 11, in Latta in varsity softball.
Latta placed 3 runs on the scoreboard in the bottom of the first inning beginning with a run scored when Ragan Bethea was hit by a pitch.
Silver Bluff responded with a run in the top of the third inning.
The Vikings added 2 runs in the bottom of the third inning. This would be all of the scoring in the game.
Jayla Jackson picked up the win. She pitched 7 innings and allowed 4 hits, 1 earned run, walked no one, and struck out 9.
Kaidance Lamb took the loss. She pitched 6 innings and allowed 5 earned runs, 8 hits, walked 2, and struck out 1.
Latta committed an error while Silver Bluff did not commit an error.
Latta’s Jayla Jackson had a triple, a single, a walk, and scored 2 runs in her 2 at-bats. Elizabeth Brown had a double, a single, and 2 rbi in her 3 at-bats. Averli Lovell had 2 singles, 1 rbi, and scored 2 runs in her 3 at-bats. Ragan Bethea had a triple and 2 rbi in her 3 at-bats. Maddie Berry had a single and scored a run in her 1 at-bat. Katelyn Johnson garnered a walk in her 2 at-bats.
Silver Bluff’s Tanijha had a single and a rbi in her 3 at-bats. Mya Cribbs had a triple and scored a run in her 3 at-bats. Tiera Valentine had a single in her 1 at-bat. Emma Chambers had a single in her 3 at-bats.
Latta is 23-1 and 3-0 in the playoffs.
