Lady Eagles Fly Home With Win Over DCS

Pee Dee Academy Eagles flew home with a 64-36 win over the Dillon Christian School Lady Warriors in varsity basketball action played in Dillon on Tuesday, February 15.
The Lady Warriors controlled the tip-off and managed to keep the score close for the first few minutes. After the first quarter of play, Pee Dee was up 21-7 and never looked back. At halftime, the Lady Eagles were flying high with a 34-9 lead.
The Pee Dee cheerleaders entertained the large crowd at halftime prior to the Dillon Christian School cheerleaders also performing at halftime to the delight of the crowd.
After 3 periods of play, Pee Dee was up 52-25.
The Lady Warriors’ Briannon Brewington led all scorers with 18 points. She sank four 2-point baskets, three 3-point baskets, and 1 free throw. Kachina Baldwin added 11 points. She sank two 3-point baskets, two 2-point baskets, and 1 free throw. Katie Collins placed 6 points on the scoreboard with two 2-point baskets and 2 free throws. Molly Andrews picked up a point on a free throw.
Pee Dee’s Lizzie McCaskill connected for 12 points on four 2-point baskets and was perfect at the charity line connecting on four free throws. Abby Johnson sank five 2-point baskets and also was perfect at the charity line with 2 free throws. Lauren Martin had two 3-point baskets and two 2-point baskets for 10 points. Ashley Martin added 10 points to the scoreboard with four 2-point baskets and 2 free throws. Rebecca Hammond sank three 2-point baskets and was also perfect at the charity line with 2 free throws for 8 points. Anna Hasty, Claire Eskridge, and Leah Johnson each added 2 points while Sydney King sank a free throw.
Pee Dee committed 7 fouls in the first half while Dillon Christian School committed 3 fouls. In the second half, Pee Dee committed 6 fouls while Dillon Christian School committed 7 fouls.
