Howard Named Executive Director Of S.C. Land Trust Network

COLUMBIA– December 21, 2020 – The South Carolina Land Trust Network (SCLTN) Board of Directors is pleased to announce the hiring of the organization’s first Executive Director, Jennifer Howard.

Howard joins SCLTN with more than 20 years of forest industry, conservation, and public relations experience. Through her business, Steward Terra Communications, she provides strategic communications counsel and implementation to land trusts, conservation organizations, forestry entities, and sustainably-focused businesses. She is serving SCLTN in a part-time capacity.
“SCLTN recognizes the power for the state’s land trusts to speak in a cohesive, consistent voice,” commented Katy Malloy, chair, South Carolina Land Trust Network board. “Jen’s depth of experience in our sector and strong relationships statewide will support the organization’s vision for growth.”
For more than 20 years, the South Carolina Land Trust Network has brought together land trusts to present a united front in land conservation, organized opportunities for networking and collaboration, provided access to resources, and promoted land conservation initiatives, statewide. Funding from the Gaylord and Dorothy Donnelly Foundation has made this critical position possible.
“Our state’s land trusts have a direct and meaningful impact on preserving our sense of place, conserving forestland that directly contributes to clean drinking water, and supporting rural economies that are shaped by natural resources,” said Howard. “I look forward to working with our committed board, members, and allied partners to amplify the need for continued land conservation in our state.”
