Mr. Dennis William Summerford, 53, passed away peacefully at his residence, on Thursday, April 18, 2019 surrounded by his family.
Born in Dillon County, SC, on October 20, 1965, he was the son of Shirley Caulder Lovett and the late William David Summerford, III. He was a member of Shiloh Chapel and was employed with Harbor Freight Tools in Dillon. Dennis loved watching all sports, especially the SC Gamecocks, and enjoyed reading.
He is survived by his mother, Shirley C. Lovett of Sellers; sisters, Tammy (Tony) Oxendine and Wanda (Randy) Sims all of Sellers; 3 nieces, Tiffany (Casey) Cooper and Kirra Cooper both of Dillon and Sasha Sims of Sellers; 1 nephew, Jordan (A.K.A. “Fred”) of Sellers; special cousin, Joyce Locklear of Latta; special friend, Patricia Daniels of Sellers; 2 special aunts, Sadie Jacobs and Martha Summerford both of Latta.
Funeral services were held 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 21, 2019 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Buddy Wiggins, with burial following at Piney Grove Holiness Church Cemetery. Visitation was held from 7-9 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
Dennis was preceded in death by his father listed above; stepfather, Wilbert Lovett; and by a niece, Catherine Oxendine.
