Services for Dalton McKay, Jr. were held 3:00 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2019 at Union Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation was held 2:00-3:00 p.m. Friday prior to the service at the church.
Mr. McKay, 82, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at his residence.
Born in Florence County, SC, July 25, 1936, he was the son of the late Dalton McKay, Sr. and Veronica Brown McKay. He was a member of Union Baptist Church, and was an avid fisherman and dog trainer.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Ann McKay of Latta; children, Angela (Aric) Gandy of Latta, Dr. Steven (Jennifer) McKay of Florence, and Nancy Rogers of Marion; grandchildren, Arica Gandy, Tristen McKay, Hannah-Marie McKay, Brandon (Logan) Rogers, Kyle Rogers, and Joshua McKay; great-grandchildren, Jax, Ace, and Anna Rogers; brothers and sisters, Frances (George) Lee of Goose Creek, Freddie (Gloria) McKay of Coward, Dianne Collins of Coward, and Wilburn (Priscilla) McKay of Winston-Salem, NC; nieces, cousins, and special nephews.
Mr. McKay was preceded in death by his son, Michael Vernon McKay; and his granddaughter, Michaela Noel Gandy.
