The Dillon Lady Wildcats handed the Latta Lady Vikings a 64-30 loss in Dillon on Wednesday, January 2.
Ja’Rhonda McCrimmon led the Lady ‘Cats in scoring with 24 points.
After controlling the tip-off Dillon began to score and by the end of the first period of play Dillon was up 21-4. By halftime the lead had increased to 41-10.
At the end of 3 periods of play Dillon was up by 30 points.
Dillon’s McCrimmon connected on nine 2-point shots, one 3-point shot, and 3 free throws while Jykya Bell connected on seven 2-point shots and 1 free throw for 15 points. Chyna Pouncey and Alyse Hines each hit three 2-point shots for a total of 6 points each while Shantazia Gordon had 5 points in the win. Andrianna Ervin and Maleah Carter each had 4 points garnered off of two 2-point shots.
Latta’s Ri’Ana Green connected for 14 points of which she hit three 3-point shots, a 2-point shot, and 3 free throws. Moya McDuffie, DeKhasia Green, and Adaya Gordon each had 4 points while Rayne Nolan added a 2-point basket.
Latta only committed a total of 6 fouls in the game, 2 in the first half and 4 in the second half. The Dillon Lady Wildcats will travel to Aynor today (Tuesday, January 8) for a 6:00 p.m. game while Latta hosted Hannah-Pamplico on Friday, January 4 and will travel to Carvers Bay today (Tuesday, January 8).
