The Latta Vikings bounced back from a 25-4 deficit at the end of the first period to squeeze a 2-point 58-56 win over visiting Hannah-Pamplico on Friday, January 4, in varsity boys basketball action.
By halftime, Latta had cut the lead to 10 points. By the end of 3 periods of play, Latta was down 50-40. However, in the final period Latta outscored Hannah-Pamplico 18-6 to claim the 2-point win.
The Vikings’ Darius McRae scored a game-high 24 points followed by Trey Miles who connected for 13 points. J. R. McClam added 10 points, and Stanley added 8 points. Roberts placed 3 points on the scoreboard for Latta.
Devin Daniels led Hannah-Pamplico with 23 points while Eaddy added 13 points. Cam Profit connected for 12 points, and Jenkins added 6 points. Mays also placed 2 points on the scoreboard.
Latta is 6-3 and 2-2 in Region 7-2A.
Latta will travel to Carvers Bay today (Tuesday, January 8).
