Dillon Lady Wildcats Lose Heartbreaker

The Dillon Lady Wildcats returned home from Darlington on Thursday night, April 19, after losing a heart-breaker 10-8 to Darlington late in the game.
Maddie Andrews not only was the winning pitcher, she also connected for 2 hits and 3 rbi in her 4 at-bats.
Maddie Andrews pitched the entire 7-inning game. She allowed 7 hits, 8 runs of which 4 were earned, walked 2, and struck out 2.
Monazia Sowells suffered the loss. She pitched 6 innings and allowed 11 hits, 10 runs of which 9 were earned, walked 5, and struck out no one.
Darlington placed 2 runs on the scoreboard in the bottom of the second inning and added another run in the bottom of the third inning. Dillon answered with 3 runs in the top of the fourth to knot the score at 3. Dillon added another run in the top of the fifth inning to take a 1-run lead. In the top of the sixth inning, Dillon scored 3 runs to go up by 4. However, in the bottom of the sixth inning, Darlington responded with 6 runs to take the lead. Dillon added a run in the top of the seventh. Dillon committed only 1 error in the game while Darlington committed 5.
Darlington managed 11 hits in the game while holding Dillon to 7 hits. Darlington’s Hailey Durant connected for a single, a double, and a rbi in her 4 at-bats. Naya Jones also connected for a single, a double, and a rbi in her 3 at-bats. Ryanne Weatherford doubled in her 3 at-bats. Dillon’s Qyiesha Wilson connected for a triple, a single, and 2 rbi in her 2 at-bats while Emilee Price doubled and picked up a rbi in her 4 at-bats.
