Georgetown Edges Out Dillon

Georgetown edged Dillon 5-3 in varsity baseball on Friday, April 20, in Dillon.
Dillon placed a run on the scoreboard in the bottom of the second inning and held the lead until the top of the fifth inning when Georgetown scored 3 runs to take a 3-1 lead. Dillon knotted the game at 3 in the bottom of the fifth. Georgetown placed 2 runs on the scoreboard in the top of the sixth and held on to win.
Although Dillon managed 8 hits and held Georgetown to 7, the scoreboard held the final decision.
Dillon committed 2 errors in the game while Georgetown did not commit an error.
Dillon’s Davis Cook connected for 2 hits and a rbi in his 3 at-bats while Ty’Quan Rogers garnered 2 hits in 4 at-bats. Ja’Teil Lester managed a single and a rbi in his 3 at-bats. Noah Carter connected for a double in his 3 at-bats.
Joshua Jones was the winning pitcher. He pitched 7 innings and allowed 8 hits and 3 runs that were earned.
Tristian Brigman was charged with the loss. He pitched 4 and 1/3 innings and allowed 7 hits, 3 runs of which 1 was earned, walked 2, and struck out 2.
Dillon finished third in Region 6-3A.
