Mrs. Sarah Ruth Grant Graham Roberts, 90, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, May 16, 2017, in the Suwannee Health and Rehab Center in Live Oak following a long illness. A native and longtime resident of Scotland County, North Carolina, Mrs. Roberts was the daughter of the late Eugene Grant and Jessie Jordan Grant.
She relocated in 1963 to Lake City where she worked with Wards Jewelers and Belk’s for many years prior to retiring. She was a member of the Southside Baptist Church. Mrs. Roberts loved to dance. She adored her cats and was dearly loved by everyone she met. She was preceded in death by two husbands, SFC Alfred Graham and John O. Roberts, one son, Kenneth Graham and one stepson, John O. “Rocky” Roberts, Jr. .
Mrs. Roberts is survived by two daughters, Brenda Graham Balara of Vilano Beach, FL; Renee Roberts of Lake City, FL and a stepdaughter, Lynda Roberts Heath of Branford, FL, and a son, Michael Roberts of Lake City, FL. Her grandson, Wesley Evachek, Jr. and great-granddaughter, Lyla Belle Evachek. Numerous step-grandchildren and numerous step-greatgrandchildren also survive.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Roberts will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 19, 2017 in the Tatum Cemetery, Tatum, South Carolina, with Mr. Bennie Cooper officiating. Interment will immediately follow. There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Lake City Humane Society, 1392 NW Shelter Gln., Lake City, FL 32055 or your local Humane Society. Arrangements are under the direction of the DEES-PARRISH FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 458 South Marion Ave., Lake City FL 32025.
