Ms. Lessie T. Stephens, 87, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at McLeod Medical Center in Dillon.
Graveside services were held 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Greenlawn Cemetery officiated by Rev. Myrt Johnson. Visitation was held 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Cooper Funeral Home.
Born in Dillon, SC, she was the daughter of the late Joseph M. Tart and Bessie Jones Tart.
She was a homemaker and caregiver to her husband.
Ms. Lessie really enjoyed her visits to Burger King, where she made many friends. The staff was very good to her too.
Back when Wal-Mart had Bingo games, she took part and had a great time. She would tell us when she won, it made her so happy!
She loved going to church at Dothan and later to the Dillon Pentecostal Holiness Church, when she was able to go. She enjoyed good old-time gospel singing.
She was the wife of the late John A. (Pealolly) Stephens.
Survivors include her daughter, Sara S. Tucker (Squeaky) of Dillon; and her son, John T. Stephens of Dillon; grandchildren, Robin T. Hunter (Joe) and Raymond B. Tucker and 3 great-grandchildren.
