Wildcats Defeat Lake Marion

Keenan Norman pumped in 23 points after the opening tip-off controlled by Dillon to lead the Dillon Wildcats to a 74-55 win over the Lake Marion Gators in a game played in Dillon on Tuesday, February 14, in the first round of Class 3A playoffs.
The fast-paced game was full of excitement of offensive and defensive prowess from both teams.
 The Dillon Wildcats had an 8-point lead after the first period of play.  By halftime, the Dillon lead was 12 points, 34-22. After 3 periods of play Dillon led by 14 points, 52-38.
Darius Boatwright added 16 points of offense for the Wildcats while TyQuan Porter connected on several shots including a 3-pointer and a free throw. Corrain Wright also connected for a 3-pointer for Dillon and a couple of other baskets. Zareon Hayes entered the game with a bang connecting on back-to-back 2 pointers plus a free throw for the ‘Cats. Raheem McClam hit for a couple of baskets in the game  while Javier Brookins also connected for a basket. Joshua Cousar sank a free throw to the delight of the crowd.
 Lake Marion’s #23 had a good night on the offensive and defensive end of the court while leading the Gators in scoring. #12 and #22 also contributed greatly in the scoring.  Also, #15, #10, #21, #1, and #14 also scored in the game.
 Dillon will host Wade Hampton on Friday, February 18, 7:00 p.m.
