Khamele Manning led all scorers with 22 points in the 45-15 victory in varsity basketball against Hanahan on Monday, Feb. 13, played in Dillon in the first round of 3A playoffs.
The Dillon Lady Wildcats held a 2-point, 6-4, lead after the first period of play. By halftime Dillon was up by 11 points, 21-10. Dillon continued to increase the lead. By the end of 3 periods of play Dillon was up 29-13. In the fourth period the Hanahan Lady Hawks picked up only 2 points.
Ja’Rhonda McCrimmon added 8 points for the Lady Cats while Kyia Bell connected for 6 points. Tazia Gordon added 4 points, and Shimya Sowells and Ja’Neequah McCrimmon each garnered 2 points in the win.
Madeline Ferris connected for 7 points for Hanahan while Samone Snyder hit for 4 points. Golden Thrower and Arielle Harper each garnered 2 points.
The Dillon Lady Wildcats will host Battery Creek in the second round of the Class 3A playoffs today, (Thursday, February 16), at 7:00 p.m.
