Libby’s Recipes: Russian Tea

This recipe is one my mother frequently made during the winter months. It just reminds me of the holidays, especially Christmas. With all today’s sweetening options, you could easily cut back on the sugar.

Russian Tea
2 quarts water
2 cups sugar
1 whole stick cinnamon
5 whole cloves
1 pint pineapple juice
1 small can frozen lemonade concentrate
1 small can frozen orange juice concentrate
1/2 gallon strong tea

Boil first four ingredients (water, sugar, cinnamon, & cloves) for 20 minutes. Add remaining ingredients. Serve hot. The recipe did not mention removing the cinnamon stick and cloves before serving, but I’m sure we did so. Enjoy, and Happy Holiday Trails!
