The Latta School Board of Trustees met for the regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, November 14, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. in the District Administrative Conference Room. In accordance with S.C. Code of Laws, 1985, Section 30-4-80-(e), The Dillon Herald was notified of the time, date, place and agenda of this meeting. The agenda is also posted in the District Office and on the District website.
Trustees present were Kyle Berry, Ray George, Stuart Poston, Eleanor Powers, and JoAnn Williamson. Vanessa Harrison and Linda James were absent.
Vice Chair Eleanor Powers welcomed all present and Dr. John Kirby opened with prayer.
There being no corrections or additions to the October 18, 2016 minutes, Chair Berry ruled that they stand approved.
OLD BUSINESS
Ray George mad a motion to make up two missed school day s due to Hurricane Matthew by adding an hour of instruction to our current school schedules for the 12 upcoming school days in December. JoAnn Williamson seconded the motion. Vote was unanimous.
DEPARTMENTAL
BUSINESS
Donna Taylor presented the status report for September 2016 on the General Fund budget.

Auditor Bob Harper from Harper, Poston & Moree, P.A. presented the audit report for the fiscal year ending in June 30, 2016. (Copies of audit attached becoming part of the minutes.”
Latta Middle School electives needing Board approval were presented by George Liebenrood. A motion to approve the electives was made by Stuart Poston and seconded by Eleanor Powers. Vote was unanimous.
The 2016 45th Day Student Count report was presented by Robert McIntyre. (Report attached becoming part of the minutes.”
Larry Legette updated the Board on St. John’s Church using Ellis Performing Arts Center for services.
Eleanor Powers shared the Ellis Performing Arts Center upcoming events with the Board.
There being no further business, Chair Berry adjourned the meeting.
