The meeting was called to order by President Dorothy Stephens. The members stood and recited the pledge to the American Flag and the SC flag. President Stephens then asked
Chaplain Millie Stanton to give the devotion an invocation. The devotion was on how Jesus is our refreshment in dry times.
After the prayer, we had light refreshments. BBQ meatballs, fruit, chips with ranch dip and brownies were served. Next, Secretary Melissa Moody read the secretary’s report. It was approved as stands. The Treasurer’s report was given by Francis Shillingburg. Ulteriorly,  President-Elect Johnnie Luehrs gave a report from the International Convention in Canada. She along with many Pilots from around the world had a wonderful time in Montreal. She enjoyed meeting new friends and learning about the administrative duties of Pilot.
New business was discussed. The PC of Dillon is planning many new projects and fundraising ideas for this upcoming year. We will be collecting school supplies and serving at The Taste of Dillon.
The PC of Dillon also voted on an Ambassador for our club. This person embodies all that a Pilot should entail. Not only do they exemplify the qualities of Pilot, but exude these characteristics in our community. Chaplain Millie Stanton was voted the new 2016-2017 Ambassador of the Pilot Club of Dillon. The previous ambassador, Secretary Melissa Moody, will pass the torch of DO MORE.CARE MORE. BE MORE.
Afterwards, the members pledged funding to St. Jude and entered names for the mystery gift drawing. The mystery gift was won by Treasurer Francis Shillingburg.
The meeting was then adjourned. The next meeting will take place on September 22, 2016 at The City of Dillon Fire Department at 6:30pm.
