South Carolina  Dillon 10 U Angels won the Dixie Softball World Series held at North Myrtle Beach from July 31 through August 5.
The entire team contributed to the victories with big, timely hits and great defensive plays.
The opening ceremonies were held on Sunday, July 31.
South Carolina  defeated Texas 21-0 on Monday, August 1, with Raven Locklear and Chesney Caddell pitching in the victory.
South Carolina  defeated Louisiani 14-1 on Tuesday, August 2, behind the pitching of Taryn Weatherford and Logan Grice.
The South Carolina team defeated North Carolina on Wednesday, August 3, in a close contest 4-0 with Raven Locklear picking up the win.
Georgia handed the South Carolina team their only loss of the tournament on Thursday, August 4, 7-0.
With the South Carolina loss, there was a 3-way tie for first place with Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. Georgia got the “bye”, and South Carolina defeated North Carolina 5-1 on Friday, August 5, behind the pitching of Raven Locklear and Taryn Weatherford.
Logan Grice and Raven Locklear combined for the final victory over Georgia 3-0 on Friday, August 5, to claim the championship.
Georgia and North Carolina were both runners-up.
Emma King, Logan Grice, Taryn Weatherford, and Raven Locklear combined for over 30 hits with a batting average over 500 in the tournament.
Cierra Grice caught every game for the South Carolina team.
