The Dillon Area AARP Chapter # 5336 met on Monday, June 13, at 2:00 p.m. in the meeting room of the Council on Aging with 26 members and three guests in attendance.
President Mickie Singleton called the meeting to order welcoming all to the spring social.
The Pledge of Allegiance to the American flag was recited after which Carolyn Rackley presented a patriotic meditation in observance of upcoming Flag Day.
The business session of the meeting was dispensed with in order to provide sufficient time for enjoyment of refreshments and fellowship.
Everyone was invited to move to the refreshment area where delicious refreshments prepared by members were enjoyed as well as lively conversation. Good wishes for a wonderful summer were extended to all.
Anyone, 50 years or above, whether working or retired is invited to join the local chapter which meets the second Monday of each month excluding July and August.
Membership in the national AARP organization is required to become a member of the local chapter.
