Latta Vikings Defeat Hemingway

The Latta Vikings defeated Hemingway 12-1 in varsity baseball action in a game played in Hemingway on Tuesday, April 19.
The Latta Vikings garnered only 2 hits but managed to win by 11 runs in a 3-inning game that Hemingway also picked up 2 hits.
The Vikings scored early and often by picking up 5 runs in the first inning, 6 runs in the second inning, and 1 run in the third inning while holding Hemingway to only 1 run in the bottom of the first inning..
Each team committed an error in the game.
The Vikings’ Brady Hatchell and Noah Moody each singled in their only at bat in the game while Isiah singled in his only at bat for Hemingway and Cody doubled in one of his 2 at-bats for Hemingway.
Kody Anderson picked up the win for Latta while pitching 2 innings and allowing only 2 hits and 1 unearned run  while striking out 3 and walking no one.
Eric McGirt pitched 1 inning for the Vikings and allowed no hits and no walks.
Isiah pitched 1.2 innings for Hemingway and struck out 1 while walking 6 and allowed 2 runs of which 1 was earned.
Desmond pitched 1.1 innings in the losing effort for Hemingway and walked 7, struck out 2, and allowed 10 runs of which 8 were earned.
Desdmond was charged with the loss.
