The Latta Lady Vikings defeated Carvers Bay 11-0 in a 5-inning varsity softball game played in Latta on Monday, April 18.
Arica Gandy pitched a one-hitter, walked 1, and struck out 1.
Carvers Bay’s Hailey Haselden was tagged with the loss. She pitched 2 1/3 innings and allowed 5 hits, 6 runs of which all were earned, walked 3, and struck out 2.
Latta picked up 12 hits in the game as Latta struck first with 3 runs in the bottom of the first inning and added 3 more in the bottom of the second inning.
The third inning proved the best one in the game for the Vikings as they added 5 more runs.
The Lady Vikings’ Macy Hyatt was perfect in her 3 trips to the plate including a double and 6 total rbi while Madison Owens was also perfect in her 2 at-bats with 4 rbi.
Latta’s Kyra Grant connected for a double in her 2 hits in 3 trips to the plated. Brandy Williams also garnered 2 hits in 3 trips to the plate with a rbi for the Vikings.
Latta is now 16 and 7 for the season and a perfect 7-0 in conference play in Region 8-A.
Latta hosted the Lake View Wild Gators on Wednesday, April 20.
